Westbank First Nation treated us this morning with a great Celebration Station on the westside, featuring delicious bannock, yogurt, fruit and juice. Thanks to Starbucks for providing coffee and Waste Conscious Living  for the reusable mug station, which allowed participants to enjoy their morning coffee with zero waste! Sovereign Cycle was there doing bike checks, the City of West Kelowna set up their fun biking obstacle course and the BC Transit bus allowed people to try loading and unloading their bikes on the bus bike rack.

The tire toss advanced to 19 feet today, with the furthest successful throw by Adam Zelenka from Interior Health. Adam will be invited to participate in the Kettle River Brewing Tire Toss finals this Friday at Prospera Place.

It’s your ride…keep it that way! Register with 529 Garage today

Today, May 29 (05-29) is a great day to register your bike with Project 529 Garage. You can also look for representatives from the City’s Police Services Crime Prevention team at the Bike to Work Week events to register your bike on-the-spot.

If your bike ever gets stolen, you can use the app to provide information to the police, insurance and the community to help recover your lost bike. It only takes minutes and is easy to do. Download the 529 Garage smartphone app, or visit 529garage.ca.

Remember to log your trips

Don’t forget to log all your biking trips during the week at gobybikebc.ca. Team leaders, check your team trip log to see if your team members are logging their trips. If they're not, it is your job to log their kilometres for them, or encourage them to do so.

You can log any trips to/from work, to/from BTWW related events (even if it's out of your way) and ANY trips you make during the week that would replace a vehicle trip.
