GoByBike Week Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, 2020
Register for GoByBike Week to stay active, have fun and win prizes. Whether you're riding on your own or with a team, simply log your trips and be eligible to win prizes.
This year, any ride counts. Anytime you ride your bike – such as for exercise, recreation or transportation – log those trips online and be enter to win some great prizes, including the provincial grand prize of a cycling trip for two to Portugal.
COVID-19: our priority is the health and safety of participants. While there will be no in-person events hosted this year, please follow the guidelines from our Provincial Medical Health Officer when out on your bike.
Register and log your trips
This year, everyone must create a new account. Old accounts will not be transferred over.
You can choose to participate as either an individual or as a team. Teams can be created for groups of people in workplaces, schools, families, friends, neighbourhoods and more.
Every team needs a Team Leader. As the team leader, you can add people to your team in the registration system or invite them to join your team.
A Team Leader can be anyone who wants to encourage a team to GoByBike. This includes:
- employee, employer or workplace team leader
- teacher, student, parent or school administrator who wants to lead a school team
- mother, father or family member who wants to lead a family team
- neighbourhood team leader
- friend who wants to lead a group team
- anyone who wants to start any team
Individual riders, those not part of a workplace team, can also register at gobybikebc.ca.
Indicidual riders are encouraged to stop by the celebration stations for free snacks and drinks, bike tune-ups and station prize draws.
Please note individuals are not eligible to recieve a team leader kit, but they are still eligible for many prizes.
Students of all ages are invited to participate in GoByBike.
Events are coordinated through the school with the assistance of smartTRIPS staff. Schools can receive a tool kit to help them get started. The starter kit includes incentives to encourage everyone to get to school without using fuel.
Prizes will also be rewarded to the schools with the highest participation rate. Bike to School Week is a fun way to encourage kids to ride to school regularly and it helps build lifelong cyclists. In addition to getting active, schools also benefit though reduced school zone congestion and fewer idling cars, which helps improve our air quality.
